Heart, Might, Mind and Strength

Aloha!

This week went by really, really fast!  It was a good week!

On Monday we did p-day stuff, I'm not going to go into detail, you all ready know what I do usually. But after all that stuff we had a zone activity.  We went to a huge park that has a lake in the middle ,and a bunch a geese!  There was a certain type of goose that was pretty cool.  It's called an Egyptian Goose.  I saw on a billboard that they are considered sacred to the Egyptians, and are found in most paintings by them.  Pretty cool!  We had fun, most of us played volleyball, which got old really fast for everyone.  Then we decided to play groundies....I know that's a kids game, but come on, we missionaries get bored pretty fast!  After all that was done, we got changed and headed out to dinner. we had Hawaiian BBQ at a place down in Costa Mesa.  It was super good!  Too good!  And they give you a whole bunch of food for cheap!  So, that was great!

Tuesday we went to go see Hamid.  We just had lunch and talked for a few mins then he had to go to a meeting.  So, this week we didn't teach him, but keep him in your prayers!  He hasn't seen his daughter for 100 days, and he is very heartbroken (she is 9).  Legal issues with the wife...:(  I hope all goes well with him!  Afterward we did service and we helped someone move a couch back into there house.  Later that day we had dinner with Rich and we went to this awesome sandwich place.  I forgot what it is called.  We then stopped by some members, but no one was home.  But we did visit briefly with the Dutros family (they are less active) and shared a scripture with her about keeping the commandments.
Wednesday we saw Henry.  Ohhh Henry, I love that guy.  He cracks me up!  We had a good lesson with him and read with him about people getting baptized in the waters of Mormon (Mosiah 18:30). We talked about why it is important to be baptized by the proper priesthood of God.  It was good!  He is getting there!  I am sooo excited for him!  The rest of the week was goo.!  I don't have much time but we taught Dale this week.  She is coming along!  She loves us coming by and sharing a lesson.

Thought: I was thinking recently about a scripture in D&C 4:1-7.  Every missionary should know it!
  1.  Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
  2.  Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart,  might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
  3.  Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
  4.  For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his  might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
  5.  And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the  work.
  6.  Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness,  charity, humility, diligence.
  7.  Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

I love this scripture!  It keeps me going everyday!

See that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.

God has a work for us to do on this earth and we will not stop til Christ comes! So, keep moving his work forward!!!

Love you all! and til next week!
