The Uke, Harmonica and Prayer

Hello!

This week was pretty good!  Elder Thueson is back home and I got a new companion.  His name is Elder Hagemeyer.  He's from Illinois, Springfield area and also one of the older missionaries, so 25 almost 26 - a 6 year difference! Pretty crazy!  We are getting along pretty well, besides Sunday. It was pretty rough, prob one of the worst days on my mission.

Anyway!  On Tuesday I got my new comp and then we went back to the apartment for dinner and started to plan for the next day ahead. So ya it was a pretty chill day.  Before Elder Thueson left, we went to go see Bishop and then a few other members that he wanted to see. So yeah that day was super chill

The next day we walked for a long time! in the morning we did our studies and then went to the area to walk around and see if we could talk to some people, but like always in Telega, no one was out. Here's the best part though! So, we were walking back to our car to go get lunch and these two kids were playing baseball, so we decided to play with them!  It was super fun but in the end we got CREAMED!  It was a sad day:( haha.   The rest of the day we just visited members and such - nothing too exciting.

Friday was pretty normal too,  we walked around and visited members
Sunday was a very tough day.  I was in a really hard spot and didn't express my feelings to anyone and my comp took it personally, and said some things that set me off.   So, I just kept quiet and just did what I was supposed to do.  After church though, I got changed and sat on my bed pondering on what I should do and whether I wanted to stay on my mission.  I heard a harmonica playing in the other room, so I got up and had an idea to share a musical message - Elder Hagemeyer on the harmonica and me on the ukulele.  In the end we did a rendition of How Great Thou Art for our dinner.  They loved it, and I felt like we (my companion and I) connected during that moment.  It also smoothed things up a little bit.  So yeah that was pretty much it for the week.

Elders Johnson and Hagemeyer with the Ewell Family - Sister Ewell said, "best missionaries EVER!"

Here's my 2 cents!  I was thinking of what to share and a video came to mind called "Wrong Road" by Elder Holland.  He has a powerful testimony on prayer.  The experience is amazing!  I have a testimony of prayer.  I know it works and I pray all the time!  I love that one on one communication with God!;)

Well I love you all!
Miss ya!
